Circuit protection diode

The SOT-23 package weighs 8 mg

Protek Devices has introduced the PESD2402 diode to shield the CAN bus-lines. The ESD protection level is rate at lower than 25 kV.

The diode is designed to protect two bus lines from impairment arising from ESD (electro-static discharge) or other applied transients. It operates at 24 V with a low capacitance rating per line. It meets or exceeds the requirements given in IEC 61000‑4‑2 (air ±15kV, contact ±8kV) and 61000‑4‑4. The product also features 100‑W peak pulse power per line as required in IEC 61000‑4‑5. This leads to a low clamping voltage and a low leakage current.

The circuit protection diode is available in a molded Jedec SOT‑23 package with an approximate weight of 8 mg. Other mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure‑tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature (pure-tin - Sn, 100) of 260 °C to 270 °C. The steering diode and TVS array series have a flammability rating of UL 94V‑0. It comes packaged on 8‑mm tape and reel per EIA standard 481 in quantities starting at 3000.

In business more than 25 years, Protek is a privately held semiconductor company. It offers a comprehensive product line of circuit protection components. This includes overvoltage protection and overcurrent protection components. The company is based in Tempe, Arizona (U.S.A). It sells its components through a worldwide network of distributors and representatives.
